SO...
Way back in September, I had every intention of writing a weekly blog post reflecting on my classroom practice. I was hoping the blog would be a way for me to capture my thinking about my teaching over the course of the year.
What happened was I got swept up in the craziness of the school year. I was so focused on what was happening in the classroom, that I didn't take the time I deserved to sit down and really think about the decisions I was making on a daily basis, reconsider my missteps, and celebrate my small victories. I think one of the reasons I failed to write each week was that I didn't schedule time to sit down and reflect and write.
Luckily, I have half of the school year left! Second quarter ends on January 20, and I'm setting Thursday evenings as my time to write for this blog. I think this will work well because I tend to do my lesson planning on Thursdays, so I'm already reflecting on what we've accomplished and where I need to go next. We'll see if I can keep it up!
Here's to new and improved good intentions!
